Red Sindhoor

Sindhoor is a red powder used by married woman.  Sindhoor is made up of vermilion , a red powder that is applied as a red streak along the parting of a woman's hair. It is also known as kumkum or sindur. It is a symbol of matrimony.

A dash of vermilion powder on a brides forehead is her holiest mark as she begins her journey as a bride, for the rest of her life.
