Harrish – Traditional Wooden Stick for Hurdhee & Hindu Wedding Rituals The Harrish is a simple yet sacred wooden stick used in traditional Hindu wedding ceremonies, especially during the Hurdhee (Haldi) ceremony and other pre-wedding rituals. In Hindu traditions, the Harrish symbolizes purity, protection, and spiritual blessing. During the Hurdhee ceremony (a ritual where turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom), the Harrish may be used to support ritual cloths, mark a sacred space, or simply be part of the ceremonial setup. In some customs, it is also placed outside the home to ward off negativity and signify that a wedding is taking place.
